The design of Gel-NYC 2055 was inspired by running shoes released in the early 2000s. The upper construction references the GT-2050 and GT-2060, with similar details found on the ASICS stripes, heel counter, and eyelet structure. While the retro influences are seen in the upper, the midsole system of the GEL-CUMULUS 16 provides improved comfort through a combination of lightweight foam and GEL technology inserts.
