With the adidas ZX 8000 Overkill, one of the most iconic classics from the adidas archive meets the design language of the Equipment era. As one half of the OVERKILL x adidas “The Missing Link” pack, the ZX 8000 serves as the familiar counterpart to the completely redesigned ZX 8094.
While the construction remains true to the iconic ZX silhouette, the shoe adopts the color scheme of its hybrid partner. A subdued base is complemented by details in the signature EQT green. The connection is particularly evident on the three stripes, which carry the Equipment influence over to the classic ZX 8000. Distinctive Torsion design elements add further accents.
The result is a ZX 8000 that doesn’t alter its heritage but rather reinterprets it from a different perspective. While the ZX 8094 fuses ZX and EQT elements in its design, the ZX 8000 demonstrates how the aesthetics of the Equipment era work within a classic ZX silhouette.
Special OVERKILL branding on the heel, insole, tongue label, and Torsion bar highlights the collaborative nature of the design. The shoe also comes with two additional pairs of laces and an extra pair of co-branded lace tags.
The adidas ZX 8000 Overkill thus combines one of the most iconic ZX silhouettes with the visual DNA of EQT—and, together with the ZX 8094, serves as the link between two defining chapters in adidas history.
